For the first time in over 30 years, the Swedish heavy metal band NEPTUNE will be on stage and this legendary gig will take place at The Abyss on Sunday 12 May. Opening act: MYSTIK.
Neptune
In the early 80s, Neptune was formed after years of playing softer rock music under the name Warriens. Taking inspiration from giants like Judas Priest, Saxon and Iron Maiden, the band abandoned their previous sound in favour of a heavier one. The name change came from the visual character that Neptune set with the Nordic Vikings in mind. Around these ancestors, heroes and Norse gods, many of the lyrics revolve; a concept that has come to characterise the band. 2018 saw the release of their debut album, Land of Northern, on which all songs were recorded in the 80s. Don’t miss the first live performance of these songs in over 30 years – the legendary cult band Neptune is back!
Mystik
Stockholm upstarts will be replacing Armory on the re-scheduled bill, bringing with them new material from their highly anticipated debut album, out this summer on I Hate records. Come early and bleed for the night!
