Dying Hydra (DK)
Deep down in a sonic abyss of sludge and filth – a beast has evolved. Dying Hydra is a three-headed mammoth specimen of Hydra, arisen from the sludgy undergrounds of Copenhagen. This beyond-heavy and intense trio has set out to paralyze the hordes with their distorted and immensely dirty soundscapes and memorizing visuals.
All members of the band have more than a decade of experience on the Danish metal scene. Together, as mortals, they unfold the devastating heavy music of the immortal Hydra. Dying Hydra was formed in Copenhagen spring 2018 by Lars Pontoppidan (guitar/vocals), Patrick Fragtrup (guitar/vocals) and Tejs Kyhl (drums). The members of the band have extensive experience on the Danish metal scene where they roamed together in a now defunct band.
Upon playing together again, now as a trio with no bass but instead with octave pedals added for low end, the trio’s efforts spawned a new vigor and inspiration materializing in what has now become the band’s heavy, atmospheric and sludgy sound.
Kadavermarch (DK)
Underground stoner pioneers Kadavermarch are now ready to captivate listeners once again with their highly anticipated new self-titled album, set for release in 2025 as the follow-up to their 2023 debut album “Into Oblivion.”
The beat is heavy. Guitar, drums, bass, and organ saturate the soundscape, so that nothing but the two vocals penetrate. It’s top-shelf riff-oriented stoner rock, with lyrics about zombies, UFOs, ghosts, and existential horror and dread. From the graveyard, the cadaver march rises with endless echoes, space reverb, and whirring guitar into the outer galaxies.
Kadavermarch consists of experienced musicians with roots in various parts of the Copenhagen underground scene, with ties to bands such as Czar, Helhorse, Crocell, Illdisposed, Tudsegammelt, and Total Heels. Kadavermarch’s self-titled second album consists of 10 tracks recorded in Copenhagen and mixed by Jacob Bredahl at Dead Rat Studio, Aarhus. The album is released in collaboration with Vinyltroll Records. The first single, “Rabbit Killer,” is scheduled for release around the turn of the year.
