Outshine is a Swedish dark rock band from Gothenburg, known for their melancholic fusion of gothic rock and metal. Founded in 1995 by guitarist and vocalist Jimmy Boman, the band began as a studio project
and evolved into a full-fledged act by 2002. Their debut EP, Memories (2005), garnered significant attention, leading to their first full-length album, Bad Things Always End Bad (2007).

Subsequent albums include Until We Are Dead (2009), Prelude to Descent (2013) and The Awakening (2022), their fourth studio album, which delves into themes of societal unrest and personal awakening.
Their latest release Sweet Dreams (2025) was released on May 19th

Outshine unleashed their brooding, heavy take on ‘Sweet Dreams’, transforming the iconic Eurythmics hit into a powerful, slow-burning anthem soaked in darkness, atmosphere, and raw emotion. With crushing guitars, cinematic textures, and a voice that drips with intensity, this cover drags the ’80s classic into the shadows — and makes it feel more relevant than ever. This isn’t nostalgia. This is rebirth. Dark. Gritty. Addictive.”

Outshine’s music is characterized by its dark, atmospheric sound, drawing influences from bands like Type O Negative, Paradise Lost, and The Sisters of Mercy. They have toured extensively, including multiple U.S. tours and European dates with Paradise Lost. Despite facing challenges such as lineup changes, legal battles, and personal hardships, Outshine has remained resilient, continuing to produce music that resonates with fans of gothic and melancholic rock.

On September 6, 2025, Outshine is scheduled to perform in Lisbon, Portugal, bringing their signature dark rock sound to new audiences.

Malignea: A New Era in Portuguese Metal Emerging in 2022 from the ashes of the acclaimed Dogma, Malignea marks a new phase for its experienced members in the Portuguese metal scene.

The band delivers a dense and melodic sound that blends elements of symphonic, doom, and gothic metal. Composed of former Dogma members, the band sought new creative freedom and a more fluid approach to songwriting. The lineup includes Miguel Sampaio (bass), Luís Abreu (drums), João Pedro Ribeiro and Luís
Possante (guitars), and vocalist Isabel Cristina, whose Portuguese vocals have become one of their distinctive hallmarks.

After their live debut in May 2022, Malignea released the single “Morte Vermelha” (Red Death). In February 2023, their self-titled debut album, “Malignea,” was launched by Ethereal Sound Works, featuring seven tracks that showcase the band’s mastery in creating emotional atmospheres with symphonic arrangements and Isabel Cristina’s powerful voice.

Since then, Malignea has solidified its position in the national underground scene, sharing stages with bands like Imperial Age and Gwydion. Their music, which draws comparisons to early gothic doom metal but with a heavier edge, has received praise from both audiences and critics, proving to be a valuable and promising addition to contemporary Portuguese metal.
